A sister workshop continues in Chicago as the Theatre Building Chicago and in New York under the sponsorship of BMI as the Lehman Engel/BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. The New York workshop has produced many famous alumni, including Ed Kleban (A Chorus Line), Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), Maury Yeston (Titanic, Phantom, Grand Hotel), Lynn Ahrens and Steven Flaherty (Ragtime, Seussical), all of whom studied with Lehman Engel.
