Jeff
Scott and
his writing partner Bill Fagan met in 1989
while working together with The Hilarions:
Gladiators of Comedy (a sketch comedy troupe
that enjoyed a three year run at Hollywood's
Theater/Theatre). The troupe's 1990 Christmas
revue, The Ho-Ho Hilarions, received rave reviews
in the L.A. Times for it's second act original
musical, All About Christmas Eve (by
Jeff and Bill).
When that run ended, Jeff & Bill formed Mayday Productions in 1992. Their first
solo production was a mock-u-musical revue: Bombed A Lot! The Music of Peter
Buoy Wryder. The show enjoyed four sold out weeks at The Rose Tattoo, and
a fully staged theatrical production ran for two months at Theater/Theatre
during the Fall of 1996.
Their next project was the full-length musical 'Til Death Do Us
Start (which has had workshop productions at Theatre Neo, Theatre Geo,
The HBO Workspace and Dvorak & Co., in L.A). Amongst their current musical
projects are: Frank Of York, a behind-the-scenes look at the filming
of a silent movie, and I Was A Teenage Homo!, a scary fairy disco tale.
Currently; Jeff is
the main pianist at The World Famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip
in Los Angeles, CA (since 1995), was the pianist/sound man for Dial-M Murder
Mysteries (Las Vegas, Reno and Nationwide tours, from 1992-2004),
does freelance composing, and was the music director/sound designer for Theatre
Neo in Los Angeles (from
1998-2007).
In 1998, Bill Fagan moved back to his home
town of San Antonio, TX, . He was very active at the San Pedro Playhouse
and continued to collaborate with Jeff until he passed away January 1,
2005. Their final musical (I Was A Teenage Homo) had it's
world premire by the award winning Theatre Neo in Los Angeles, Fall 2007.
And in 2009 Teenage Homo was translated into Spanish for it's first international
production, in Mexico City, Mexico.
