(Lightning! Thunder! Annabel's grave opens, from which Mortatus enters.
Madeline screams. Mortatus, with a wave of his hand, silences her, and she is instantly calm.)

The full moon is here
My orders were clear
You must prove your worth!

CHIP (SPOKEN)
" I did! The moon was full before Doctor Popov ever discovered the allergy!?!"

MORTATUS (SPOKEN)
" SILENCE!"

MORTATUS
You've fallen short
I've come to escort
Her away from this Earth!

(As Mortatus beckons, Madeline sleep-walks towards him.)

MORTATUS (SPOKEN)
" That's right, Madeline. Time to come home. See? The little human couldn't protect you.
The allergy was discovered. And, the moon is full WHEN I SAY IT'S FULL!"

MORTATUS
You lacked the energy

Revenge is mine!

(Mortatus, embracing Madeline, begins to re-enter The Netherworld through the grave.)

CHIP (SPOKEN)
" WAIT! Give her one more chance."

MORTATUS (SPOKEN)
" Don't tell me..."

CHIP (SPOKEN)
" What if I go in her place?"

MORTATUS (SPOKEN)
" What?"

(Mortatus stops dead in his tracks.)

(Mortatus opens a small vial containing Madeline's spirit, pours it over her body, and vanishes into the depths of the grave. Annabel's grave seals itself behind him. Suddenly, Madeline begins to breath and move...she is alive again!)
